Glad to see a site dedicated to Viet Nam EOD vets. Served 99th EOD (USA) in Long Binh 1972 and spent 2 1/2 months in Nha Trang supporting II Corps as all other EOD units had withdrawn. Anyone in 99th EOD please contact. Indian Head graduate 1971. Good Luck to all the guys in the Middle East.

I was surprised to receive a post card in the mail telling about the Vietnam EOD veterans group. I consider my time in EOD as the best. After graduating from Indian Head I was sent to the 145th Ord Det in Pa then to Vietnam in 68 to the 191th Ord Det in Camrahn. Did not see very many entries for my time frame. Wpould like to hear from those that served from 67-69. Anyone remember MSG John Merriam?

25th EOD, An Khe, 1967-68, as clerk/dispatcher. Now retired from the Army Reserve and retired from federal civil service. Got credit for one EOD incident when all teams were on out on call. Two dummies drove all the way across An Khe base camp with a live grenade for which they'd lost the pin. Fortunately I'd heard techs talk about what to do in such a case, so I did. (Much better than diving for cover when all else failed!)

In case anyone was not notified we lost one of our fellow EOD men this week. Art Macksey passed away in Huntsville, Al earlier this week. Art attended our reunion in St. Louis last year and we all had a great time with him, he will be deeply missed by the entire EOD communiy.

Dave Rosenbaum you are one lucky guy. We all feel the same way about DT and are all proud to have served with him and thankfully for me he makes a great Adjutant which makes my life a lot simpler. Great to see some new names popping up in the book, now let's all get ready for Huntsville. If you missed St. Louis last year just ask anyone who attended, it is worth every dollar. See you all soon Commander Rick
